Key Issues

I will work for the people or our region, not a party or party elite. 

Protect subsistence rights. Access to public lands for subsistence. Promote regulations that incorporate traditional values and seasons 

Responsible, sustainable commercial fishing. 

Trawling is wreaking havoc on our salmon, halibut and crab stocks. Salmon runs have been on the decline in the Kuskokwim and Yukon. I am afraid Bristol Bay is next. I will propose to ban all trawling in state waters and keep mid water trawlers off the bottom.  . 

We must support our schools. Our children are our future. We need long term plans for school construction and maintenance.. I support forward funding and an educational endowment fund.

Provide adequate law enforcement in our rural communities. Keep our communities safe.

Protect the most vulnerable in our communities. Increase awareness of and combat this crisis.

Protect personal freedoms from government overreach. Strong advocate for Second Amendment Rights.

Dedicated public servant. Former Mayor of Bethel, and 9 years on Bethel City Council. A career of helping people in our region.

 I will promote using efficiency models that private industries use to reduce waste and improve productivity. Models such as Six Sigma and Toyota/Lean can be implemented to improve processes. 

I oppose a statewide sales tax. With our high cost of living, this would disproportionally hurt us. It would also compete with revenue for many of our local governments.

Support and promote alternative energy project. Protect Power Cost Equalization (PCE) Funding

Promote responsible resource development in rural Alaska. 

 Allow local governments and school districts the ability to amend the workforce based on need. Current law restricts this ability and imposes costly termination studies and penalties. Explore a better retirement system for public employees.

 Oppose Donlin and Pebble mines. These mines pose catastrophic threats to our fisheries and way of live. Will propose legislation and zoning to fight them.  .
